PROJECT
2927

LMMPO implemented a Management and Coordination of IDPs Collective Centers in Emergency project, funded by YHPF (Project Code: #2927), in Hajja, Amran, Amanat Al-Asimah, Ibb, Taiz & Al-Bayda governorates from July 2016 to March 2017 to help alleviate the suffering of IDPs and marginalized people, 14 collective centers and spontaneous settlements were established and provided with support (3 in Hajja, 3 in Amran, 2 in Amanat Al-Asimah, 3 in Ibb & 3 in Taiz). Provision of shelter and other rehabilitation work was ensured as well. First, committees were elected by IDPs themselves and then trained by specialists on how to manage their centers' daily life. Yemen Collective Centers guidelines were drafted with the Shelter & CCCM Cluster lead with the contribution of LMMPO. Then the capacity of 4 local NGOs was built. Finally, NFIs for IDPs in Ash Shamayaten District in Taiz and Rada district in Al-Bayda Governorate were distributed to vulnerable persons that created a great impact on their lives. The collective centers strengthened self-reliance and self-regulations among IDPs and reduced protection concerns during their stay there.
